Siriraj Faculty Abroad at ESPO 2023 in UK

Asst. Prof. Vannipa Vathanophas from the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, attended and delivered a research poster presentation on the topic “Prevention of ENT Comorbidities in Children with Allergic Rhinitis” at “The 16th Congress of the European Society of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology (ESPO 2023): Science, Clinicians and Families – Better Together” between May 20th – 23rd, 2023 in Liverpool, UK.

The ESPO 2023 features academic program presentations on cutting-edge research and complex cases and opportunities to interact and learn from renowned authorities in all fields of pediatric Otorhinolaryngology.

Kanthong Thongyai, Chief of Otology Neurotology Audiology and Balance Division, Asst. Prof. Sarun Prakairungthong, and Asst. Prof. Siriporn Limviriyakul from the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, welcomed Asst. Prof. Arik Paolo Isaiah Delacruz of West Visayas State University-College of Medicine, Philippines on attending the 1-Month Short Training Program in Otology and Neurotology at Otology Neurotology Audiology and Balance Division, Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, starting from May 8th – June 9th, 2023.

Transoral Endoscopic Thyroidectomy 2023

                On May 1st, 2023, the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University together with The Royal College of Otolaryngologists-Head and Neck Surgeons of Thailand (RCOT) organized a pre-congress workshop on Transoral Endoscopic Thyroidectomy 2023 at Siriraj Training and Education Center for Clinical skills (SiTEC), Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University.

Dr. Prachya Maneeprasopchoke welcomed Dr.Phub Tshering, Head of ENT and Head Neck Surgery from Jigme Dorji Wangchuk National Referral Hospital, Kingdom of Bhutan on the discussion for further collaboration in the field of Otorhinolaryngology between Jigme Dorji Wangchuk National Referral Hospital and Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital.

Short Training at Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Elective Study at Department of Surgery

Welcome, Dr. Redentor Bate Magdayao from Schistosomiasis Hospital Palo, Leyte, Philippines to attend the short training course under the Siriraj Scholarship for ASEAN and Developing Countries at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology from  April 3rd–  June 30th, 2023 and Dr. Sanjib Tripathee from Grande City Hospital, Kathmandu, Nepal to attend the short training course under Siriraj Scholarship for Doctors from ASEAN and Developing Countries at the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Department of Surgery from April  3rd – 28th, 2023.

From April 3rd-28th, 2023, Ms. Rikako Kai and Mr. Reo Kimura from Toho University, Japan are also going to undertake an elective study at the Department of Surgery.

On March 27th, 2023, the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, held special lecture series by Prof. Luisa Maria Bellussi, Honorary President of the Italian Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology on the topic “Medical therapy of OSAS”; Prof. Maria Pia Villa, Professor of Pediatrics, University of Rome, Italy, on the topic “Nasal obstruction in Childhood”; and Prof. Desiderio Passali, IFOS Past President on the topic “Oxidative stress in OSAS and Snores patients”.
