Prof. Dr. Prapat Suriyaphol, Deputy Dean for Information Technology; Ms. Chamaiporn Charpenkraikamol, Head Nurse, Division of Nursing; and Ms. Premjit Suttipoom, Head of Pharmacy Department welcomed our distinguished guests from the Faculty of Postgraduate Studies, University of Health Sciences, Lao PDR led by Dr. Vanphanom Sychareun, Dean of Faculty of Public Health on visit and discussion for future collaboration at Center of Medical Education Technology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University.

The discussion covered hospital management, healthcare services, clinical pharmacy, nursing, radiology, medical lab equipment, accreditation, health information, and nutrition.

Major Milestone Achieved: First Step of Our Lord Buddha

From October 1st-6th, 2023, a dedicated team of healthcare professionals from the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University embarked on a compassionate mission to Nepal. This mission, ‘Love for Humanity’ By Siriraj Orthopaedics, was undertaken to perform life-changing joint replacement surgeries for patients in Siddhartha Hospital, Nepal.

Siriraj Health Policy in a Global Landscape

Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, led by Prof. Apichat Asavamongkolkul, Dean o, and Assoc. Prof. Varalak Srinonprasert, Head of Siriraj Health Policy Unit, participated in the 3rd/2023 committee conference of Prince Mahidol Award Conference (PMAC) held on August 28th-29th, 2023, at the Centara Grand Beach Resort Phuket, Phuket, and the 4th PMAC 2024 Preparatory Meeting held on September 25th-27th, 2023 at The Rockefeller Foundation, New York, United States.

These meetings aimed to discuss and deliberate on the details of the PMAC 2024 program, including the sessions and speakers, abstract selection process, field trips, and other related activities. In addition, the discussions aimed at shaping the future development directions of PMAC and determining the main themes for PMAC 2025.

The Prince Mahidol Award Conference (PMAC) is an important platform where health experts worldwide come together to present and discuss policies that impact global society and healthcare systems. The main theme of PMAC 2024 is “Geopolitics, Human Security, and Health Equity in an Era of Polycrises,” which focuses on international cooperation in a context where various types of threats coincide on a global scale, affecting the health of populations in different ways.

 

Siriraj highlights research at JCA2023, Japan

From September 21st – 23rd, 2023, Assoc. Prof. Siwanon Jirawatnotai, representing the Department of Pharmacology at the Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, made a significant contribution at the 82nd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Cancer Association (JCA). He shared his valuable insights on the topic, ‘’Acquired Vulnerability Screening Unveiled Novel Candidate Drug Targets in the Drug Resistant Cholangiocarcinoma.

The JCA is a distinguished organization of 13,000 researchers engaged in cancer research and studies related to public health and social medicine, providing a platform for collaboration among professionals with diverse specializations.

This engagement by Assoc. Prof. Siwanon Jirawatnotai and the broader efforts of the Japanese Cancer Association exemplify a commitment to advancing cancer research and its global reach, ultimately working towards better outcomes for patients worldwide.
