The Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology (JAAD) Volume 85, Issue 5, November 01, 2021, the official scientific publication of the American Academy of Dermatology, has published the research article “Ocular manifestations of facial port-wine stain, nevus of Ota, and phakomatosis pigmentovascularis in Asian patients” (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jaad.2020.04.169) by Dr. Nootchanard Rujimethapass, Prof. Woraphong Manuskiatti, Assoc. Prof. Rungsima Wanitphakdeedecha from Department of Dermatology, and Assist. Prof. Sakaorat Petchyim from Department of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, to investigate the prevalence of glaucoma in patients with facial port-wine stains (PWSs), nevus of Ota, and phakomatosis pigmentovascularis (PPV) to establish the association between facial vascular birthmarks and ocular complications.

The Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology (JAAD) features original medical education articles designed to fill practice and knowledge gaps in the delivery of dermatologic care. The JAAD is ranked 1st out of 68 in the Dermatology category in the 2020 Journal Citation Reports®, published by Clarivate Analytics, and has an Impact Factor of 11.527!

Lecturer Dr. Thanya Techapichetvanich from Dermatosurgery Division, Department of Dermatology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, has successfully completed the “Clinical Fellowship Training in Mohs Micrographic Surgery & Reconstruction, Scar Surgery” and “Clinical Fellowship Training in Mesenchymal Stem Cells and Fat Grafting” from Department of Dermatology at Severance Hospital, Yonsei University College of Medicine, Seoul, Republic of Korea, between July 1st, 2019 – March 31st, 2021.

After her graduation, Lecturer Dr. Thanya will continue her position at the Dermatosurgery Division and will responsible for Cutaneous Cancer Surgery & Reconstruction and Scar Clinic.

A clinical report on the topic “Objective and Long‐Term Evaluation of the Efficacy and Safety of a 1064‐nm Picosecond Laser With Fractionated Microlens Array for the Treatment of Atrophic Acne Scar in Asians” by Prof. Woraphong Manuskiatti, Dr. Preawphan Punyaratabandhu, Dr. Ploypailin Tantrapornpong, Dr. Chadakan Yan, and Dr. Kathryn Anne G. Cembrano, from Department of Dermatology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, was selected by the Editor of Lasers in Surgery and Medicine as an Editor’ s Choice for the January 2021 issue! Filipino Doctors Undertake Clinical Fellowship Training

Welcome, Dr. Mia Katrina Romana Gervasio and Dr. Christina Banate Gulfan from the Philippines to undertake a 1-year international program “Clinical Fellowship Training Program in Dermatologic Surgery” at Dermatosurgery Division, Department of Dermatology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University between October 12th, 2020 – November 11th, 2021.

ACARE ADCARE Certified at Siriraj Urticaria Clinic

Angioedema is a common condition, affecting patients’ quality of life. Since it is a difficult-to-treat condition, the treatment is still challenging for the physicians. Prof. Kanokvalai Kulthanan has established Siriraj Urticaria Clinic at the Department of Dermatology, Siriraj Hospital since 2001 to focus on providing the best diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to the patients with urticaria and also angioedema by dedicated multidisciplinary teams. Our teams have been consistently studying on many types of research to improve knowledge and management of angioedema as shown in many published high-quality articles.

In 2020, Siriraj Urticaria Clinic, Department of Dermatology, Siriraj Hospital has been certified as the first Global Allergy and Asthma European Network (GA2LEN)/HAE international (HAEi) angioedema Centers of Reference and Excellence (ACARE) in Southeast Asia and promoted to be Siriraj Urticaria and Angioedema center. The clinic is willing to provide excellence in angioedema management, encourage and support researches in the field of angioedema as well as promote angioedema awareness through advocacy activities.

Siriraj Atopic Dermatitis Center

Siriraj Atopic Dermatitis Center provides diagnosis, counseling, and treatment for patients aged over 18 years with atopic dermatitis. The practices adhere to international standards for effective results. Our team consists of multidisciplinary staffs including dermatologists specialized in atopic dermatitis, nurses and scientists in order to improve management for atopic dermatitis patients.

Siriraj Atopic Dermatitis Center passed the standard criteria for excellent quality and management and has been verified by GA²LEN, the Global Allergy and Asthma European Network as one of the Atopic Dermatitis Centers of Reference and Excellence (ADCARE) centers.
