Siriraj Faculty Abroad at ISICEM 2023 in Belgium

During March 20th – 25th, 2023, Lect. Dr. Nuanprae Kitisin of the Department of Department of Anesthesiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, attended the “42nd International Symposium On Intensive Care & Emergency Medicine (ISICEM)” in Brussels, Belgium, to deliver a poster presentation.

The International Symposium on Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine is organized in collaboration with the Departments of Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine of Erasme University Hospital, Université Libre de Bruxelles, and with the Belgian Society of Intensive Care Medicine (SIZ). The meeting is held every year in March, starting in 1980, to provide participants with up-to-date reviews of the most recent, clinically relevant, developments in research, therapy, and management of the critically ill. The meeting is open to all physicians, nurses, and other health professionals with an interest in critical care or emergency medicine, and attracts more than 6,200 participants from countries worldwide.

Successful Candidates for Clinical Pain Management Scholarship 2023

Elective Study at Department of Anesthesiology and Division of Cardiology

Siriraj International Fellowship Training in Clinical Pain Management 2023’s Application Period Extension!

Siriraj Pain Management Clinical Training Center, Department of Anesthesiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University is pleased to announce the allocation period extension of the scholarship program “Siriraj International Fellowship Training in Clinical Pain Management (Academic Year 2023) jointly sponsored by the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) and the World Federation of Societies for Anaesthesiologists (WFSA).

“Siriraj International Fellowship Training in Clinical Pain Management” is a hands-on one-year fellowship program available for two outstanding multidisciplinary clinicians in pain management, treatments, and assessments for application in low-resource countries. The program will start on August 1st, 2023 – July 31st, 2024, at Siriraj Pain Management Clinical Training Center, Department of Anesthesiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand. The successful candidates will receive waived tuition fees, accommodation, round-trip air tickets, and the stipend supported by the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) and World Federations of Anesthesiologists (WFSA).

Siriraj Faculty Was Selected Into the Editorial Board of WFSA’s ATOTW

Congratulations to Assoc. Prof. Nantthasorn Zinboonyahgoon, Chief of Siriraj Clinical Pain Management Training Center, Department of Anesthesiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, for being selected into the Editorial Board of the ATOTW (Anaesthesia Tutorial of the Week) for the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists (WFSA).

ATOTW is published bi-weekly and translated into five languages. All ATOTW’s tutorials are peer-reviewed and based on the most current literature. Readers can also test their knowledge through ATOTW’s online CME quizzes. Anyone is welcome to use ATOTW’s material as a useful resource for clinical practice! All content is published under Creative Commons licensing.

Elective Study at the Department of Anesthesiology and the Department of Dermatology

Welcome, a Korean medical student from Yonsei University College of Medicine, South Korea, to undertake an elective study at the Department of Anesthesiology from January 3rd – 13th, 2023, and the Department of Dermatology from January 16th – 20th, 2023. And between January 3rd – 6th, 2023, Mr. Natanon Kittimongkolsuk and Ms. Chakriya Jirasutthichoti, the high school students also attended an observership program called ’shadowing electives’ at the Department of Anesthesiology.

During November 10th – 13th, 2022, Lecturer Dr. Pattrapun Wongsripuemtet of the Department of Anesthesiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, attended the international conference “Asian Australasian Congress of Anaesthesiologists (AACA) 2022” in Seoul, Republic of Korea, and delivered a poster presentation on the topic “Prevalence of Residual Significant Tricuspid Valve Regurgitation in Patient Undergoing Left-sided Cardiac Surgery: A Retrospective Study.”

The AACA (Asian Australasian Congress of Anaesthesiologists) is the biggest four-year-round event of AARS, the Asia Australasian regional section of WFSA. This year, 25 member societies of AARS from 33 countries will join AACA2022 in Seoul, Korea in conjunction with the annual meeting of The Korean Society of Anesthesiologists and The Korean Pain Society. AACA2022 will become a showcase to share the latest information about Anaesthesia, Intensive Care, and Perioperative Medicine as well as Pain Management.

Certification Ceremony for Clinical Attachment Program Pain Management for Nurse

Assoc. Prof. Orawan Pongraweewan, Chairwoman of the Department of Anesthesiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, delivered a certificate of completion to Mr. Sangay Chhime, a nurse from Jigme Dorji Wangchuk National Referral Hospital, Bhutan, who successfully completed a short training program “Clinical Attachment Program Pain Management for Nurse” at the Department of Anesthesiology, between August 1st – October 26th, 2022.
