The Documentation at Siriraj by World Health Organization South-East Asia Regional Office
Ms. Christine McNab, a photojournalist from World Health Organization South-East Asia Regional Office (W.H.O. S.E.A.R.O.) and the team from Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health, Thailand, are filming and documenting on the topics “Combating Hepatitis B through Immunization” at Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, on August 13th, 2019, under the supervision of Prof. Kulkanya Chokephaibulkit, Chief of Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Pediatrics and Assoc. Prof. Manopchai Thamkhantho, Chief of Sexual Transmitted Diseases Unit, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
This year (July 2019), W.H.O. Appointed Regional Committee (Independence) just announced that Thailand had become one of the first countries in W.H.O. South-East Asia Region to achieve Hepatitis B control, with prevalence of the deadly disease dropping to less than one percent among five-year-old children.
