The 1st Siriraj Medical Sciences Academic Competition on Physiology
On February 18th – 19th, 2023, Prof. Thawatchai Akariputh, Deputy Dean and Director of Siriraj Medical School, presided over the “1st Siriraj Medical Sciences Academic Competition (SiMSAC) on Physiology” under the supervision of the SiMSAC Competition Commission Chairwoman, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chantacha Sitticharoon of the Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University.
The 1st SiMSAC is a 2-day competition focused on physiology, hosted and organized by the Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, which aims to promote the visibility of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, to the high-school teachers and students across Thailand to broaden their knowledge in physiology and understand the importance of physiology.
Since the competition has launched, there are a total of 200 schools from different regions across the country applied to participate in the contest: 2 schools from the Northern region, 117 schools from the Central region (93 schools in Bangkok and its suburbs), 27 schools from the northeastern region, 18 schools from the eastern region, 16 from the western region, and 20 schools from the southern regions (a total of 600 students, 296 teachers!) Besides the competition, SiMSAC also provides special lectures on “Knowing, Understanding, and Communicating with the ‘Generation Me’ Teenagers”, SI talk Forum, and Siriraj’s Anatomy Labs tour.
