Dr. Pariyada Tanjak, a researcher from Siriraj Cancer Center, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, attended and delivered a poster presentation on the topic “KRAS Mutation Suppress the Tumor Immune Microenvironment in Colorectal Cancer” at The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting 2023 in Orlando, USA, between April 14th – 19th, 2023.

Dr. Thanawat Suwatthanarak of Siriraj Cancer Center, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, attended and delivered a poster presentation on the topic “Transcriptomic Analysis of Tetraspanins in Colorectal Cancer” at “The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting 2023” in Orlando, USA, between April 14th – 19th, 2023.

Mayo Clinic Visited Siriraj

On November 18th, 2022, Prof. Prasit Watanapa, the former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, together with Prof. Thawatchai Akaraviputh, the Deputy Dean and Director of Siriraj Medical School, Assoc. Prof. Visit Vamvanit, the Director of Siriraj Hospital, Assoc. Prof. Vitoon Chinswangwatanakul, the Chairman of Siriraj Cancer Center, Dr. Charuwan Akewanlop from the Department of Medicine, Dr. Suwanit Therasakvichya from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Prof. Winai Ratanasuwan, the Director of Siriraj Institute of Clinical Research (SICRES), greeted and welcomed the distinguished guests from the Mayo Clinic: Dr. Brian Costello, the Executive Medical Director (medical oncologist), Dr. Dean Patterson, Executive Director, and Mr. Royston Lek, Executive Director for Asia Pacific, to discuss on the Mayo Clinic & Siriraj Collaboration.

The 2nd Asia-Pacific Cholangiocarcinoma Conference

On March 23, 2018, Professor Dr. Prasit Watanapa, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital presided over the 2nd Asia-Pacific Cholangiocarcinoma Conference. The international conference was co-hosted by five prestigious intitutes: Mayo Clinic; The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center; Thai Society of Clinical Oncology; The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation; and Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospita, and held during March 23 – 24, 2018 at Rachapanaddasirindhorn Auditorium, Srisavarindira Building, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, under the objectives to provide an opportunity for the participants to learn and share knowledge on Cholangiocarcinoma disease that will bring about the ability to improve the outcome of patient treatment.

The conference was seasoned by many reputed speakers. The reporting remark was given by Assistant Professor Charuwan Akewanlop, Chief, Division of Medical Oncology, Department of Medicine and Associate Professor Mitesh Borad, Director of Liver and Biliary Cancer Research Program Mayo Clinic, Phoenix, Arizona.

Siriraj Cancer Center is responsible for coordinating education and clinical service including promoting cancer research, as well as leading society with quality and up-to-date knowledge with academic recognition.

HISTORY


Cancer Organization founded was by Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospitan February 1945 to be a center for treatment, prevention and research on cancer diseases. However, the implementation was stopped owing to thesituation after the World War.
