Multidisciplinary Care in Dementia: Sweden and Thailand Exchanging Experience

Prof. Dr. Prasit Watanapa, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital welcomed Dr. Melker Löwenhoff from Vrinnevi hospital, Norrköping, Sweden to Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital.

On September 30th, 2019, Dr. Löwenhoff delivered a lecture on “How to Initiate Standard Geriatric ward/Mobile team with Multidisciplinary Cooperation” and “How to Deal with BPSD In People with Dementia” at the joint conference between Department of Preventive and Social Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital and Vrinnevi hospital, Norrköping, Sweden, “Multidisciplinary Care in Dementia: Sweden and Thailand Exchanging Experience” at 12th floor, Siriraj Medical Research Center.

On October 2nd, 2019, Dr. Löwenhoff also paid a visit at International Relations Division, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital and received a very warm welcome by Assoc. Prof. Prapat Wanitpongpan, Assistant Dean for International Relations. #irsiriraj #sirirajdementia

Students from Nagoya University Attend the Short Training Program at Siriraj

On September 13th, 2019, the faculty members and students from Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine/School of Health Sciences (consisting of eight nurses, five medical technologists, one occupational therapist, and three faculty members) attended Siriraj’s international short training program on the topic “Diseases Prevention & Promotion in the Aging Society: Integrating Modern and Traditional Medicine” delivered by Prof. Prasert Assantachai, Deputy Dean and Chief of Division of Geriatric Medicine, Department of Preventive and Social Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University.

The delegations from Nagoya University also visit Siriraj Geriatric Medicine Clinic and Siriraj Bimuksthan Museum to obtain a deeper understanding of the geriatric medicine experience and Siriraj history.

Siriraj Faculty Delivered a Poster in Spain

Dr. Harisd Phannarus from Department of Preventive and Social Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital delivered the poster presentation on “Development of a Thai Tool for Assessing Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD-T)” at IPA/SEPG Joint International Congress, Santiago de Compostela, Spain during August 31st – September 3rd, 2019.

Siriraj Scholarship Recipient Completed Master Degree in Sweden

Dr. Sichon Luerithiphong, the recipient of the Prince Mahidol Award Youth Program Scholarship year 2014, from the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine has completed the master degree in Health Economics, Policy, and Management at Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden.”

His thesis was in an area of health economics with the title of “A Cost-Utility Analysis of Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation versus Blood Transfusion Plus Iron Chelation Therapy in Thalassaemia Patients in Thailand”
