Mahidol University and Peking University launch “China-ASEAN Science and Technology Cooperation Center for Public Health”

On April 25th, 2023, Assoc. Prof. Prapat Wanitpongpan, Deputy Dean for Corporate Communication and International Relations, on behalf of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, presided over the launching ceremony of the “China-ASEAN Science and Technology Cooperation Center for Public Health” at Peking University in China. It aims to foster high-level exchange and cooperation in healthcare, global health research, and research exchange between healthcare institutes in Thailand and China.

The China-ASEAN Science and Technology Cooperation Center for Public Health Network was established by Peking University and Mahidol University in partnership with 22 healthcare institutes from China and 21 institutes from ASEAN. The Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital played a crucial role in the collaborative framework in healthcare, as negotiations began back in 2019. This initiative is expected to lead to innovative solutions and contribute to the advancement of public health in both regions.

The Grand Opening of Siriraj Innovation Lab

On April 24th, 2023, Prof. Apichat Asavamongkolkul, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, along with executive members: Clin. Prof. Visit Vamvanij, Director of Siriraj Hospital, Asst. Prof. Prapat Suriyapol, Deputy Dean of Information Technology, and Assoc. Prof. Cherdchai Nopmaneejumruslers, Deputy Dean of Service Innovations and Corporate Value presided over a new era of innovation with the grand opening of the Siriraj Innovation Lab on the 2nd floor, Srisavarindhira Building.

The lab, created by the Center for Value-Driven Care (VDC), is based on a conceptual framework for a digital health innovation ecosystem, with a focus on digital transformation. It will provide opportunities for Siriraj personnel to work with both Thai and international in public and private sectors as well as health tech companies and startups to extensively develop medical innovations that proactively address the demands of customers in Thailand. The event also featured an exhibition highlighting the “5G Smart Hospital Projects,” showcasing advanced medical equipment from the collaborative projects with many sectors such as Medical iOT devices, Telemedicine systems, Smart ICU systems, Hospital Command center simulations, AR navigation systems, and ESG Innovative Medical Supplies. With this occasion, the Siriraj Innovation Lab represents a significant milestone for Siriraj Hospital and promises to drive innovation in healthcare for years to come.

Siriraj Center of Excellence Forum 2023

On April 24th, 2023, Prof. Banchong Mahaisavariya, the President of Mahidol University, together with Prof. Apichat Asavamongkolkul, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital; Clin. Prof. Visit Vamvanij, Director of Siriraj Hospital; Assoc.
