Clinical Rotation at Department of Medicine

Welcome, Dr. Lauren Ogawa and Dr.Phillip Chen, residents from UCLA, USA as well as Dr.Juilliet Besson and Dr.Anna Blum from Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute, Switzerland to undertake the clinical rotation at the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital Mahidol University.

Dr. Ogawa is participating in the Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine from May 1st-19th, 2023 while Dr. Chen is undertaking at the Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine from May 2nd-12th, 2023, and the Division of Gastroenterology, Department of Medicine starting from May 15th-19th, 2023.

Meanwhile, Dr. Besson and Dr. Blum are undertaking at the Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine from May 1st-31st, 2023.

Biodesign in Medicine International Program

Siriraj, Biodesign in Medicine (International Program) is an interdisciplinary program of medicine, engineering, and medical technology that provides students with a unique opportunity to explore the intersection of these fields, offering a broad range of knowledge and skills needed to challenges in biological therapy, digital health, and innovative medical products. By bringing together experts from diverse fields, this program brings up a collaborative and dynamic learning environment that encourages students to develop a holistic approach to biomedical innovation.

Who are we looking for?

  • Hold a degree in veterinary medicine, pharmacy, medical technology, engineering, science, or other related fields or attending the final semester of major from academic institutes accredited by the Office of the Higher Education Commission
  • GPA not less than 3.5
  • English Proficiency Examination score regarding the requirement of the Faculty of Graduate Studies

Siriraj Researchers Awarded Gold Medal for Innovative Medical AI Project at “The 48th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva”!

Dr. Piyalitt Ittichaiwong and Dr. Kanyakorn Veerakanjana of Siriraj Informatics and Data Innovation Center (SiData+) and their team of collaborators from the Department of Electrical Engineering at Chulalongkorn University have been awarded the Gold Medal prize for their groundbreaking work on medical AI research in the project, titled “Myelosoft: Development of Abnormal Leukocyte Counting System via Smartphone using Convolutional Neural Network,” from Class M: Medicine – Surgery – Orthopedics – Material for disabled, at “The 48th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva”, Switzerland.
The International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva is The largest event in the world that is solely dedicated to inventions. All the latest innovations are exhibited at this event exclusively for the first time and industrial and commercial companies, universities, inventors, researchers, associations, private and public organizations, and institutes present their inventions, new products, and research results.

Siriraj Faculty Abroad at Digestive Disease Week® (DDW) 2023 in USA

Assoc. Prof. Watcharasak Chotiyaputta from the Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, attended and delivered a poster presentation on the topic “A novel and simplified score for determining treatment eligibility for patients with chronic hepatitis B” at the “Digestive Disease Week (DDW) 2023” in Chicago, USA, between May 6th – 9th, 2023. The Digestive Disease Week is the world’s largest gathering of physicians and researchers in the fields of gastroenterology, hepatology, endoscopy, and GI surgery.
