The Third Abbas’s Advanced Course in Basic and Clinical Immunology Conference on 8th-9th February 2018 and Research Presentation and Proposal Development in Immunology Workshop on 10th February 2018 will take place at Syamindra Building, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand, starting from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm.

The Deputy Minister and Delegates from Ministry of Health and Welfare Taiwan Visits Siriraj Hospital

On December 22, 2017, Professor Dr. Prasit Watanapa, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital along with administrative members welcomed Dr. Chi-Kung HO, Deputy Minister and delegates from Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) and Changhua Christian Hospital, Taiwan to visit Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital to deepen the bilateral collaboration between Thailand and Taiwan on health information system.

 

President Rajiv Shah and Delegates from Rockefeller Foundation Visits Siriraj Hospital

On December 21, 2017, Professor Dr. Prasit Watanapa, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital along with administrative members welcomed Professor Rajiv Shah, President and distinguished delegates from Rockefeller Foundation to visit Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital focusing on health outcomes such as maternal and child health, as well as innovative healthcare deliver models and innovative health finance.

Siriraj and Rockefeller have been sharing the important milestone together in the history of Thailand in assisting the establishment of the Royal Medical School which was then become the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, the first medical school of Thailand in nowadays.

 

The 14th Asia-Pacific Conference on Diabetic Limb Problems

On November 17, 2017, Professor Dr. Prasit Watanapa, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital presided over the 14th Asia-Pacific Conference on Diabetic Limb Problems at Rachapanaddasirindhorn Auditorium, Srisavarindhira Building. The International Conference was hosted by the collaboration of Department of Rehabilitation Medicine and Siriraj Diabetes Center, held during November 17-19, 2017 under the objectives to enhance efficiency of organization to take care of diabetic patients, to support faculty’s strategy in field of research and academic excellence, and to enhance and promote knowledge exchange between medical personnel to realize the importance of tending diabetic wounds with equal standards. The conference was seasoned by many reputed international speakers e.g. Clinical Assistant Professor Samson Chan Chi Fai, President of The Hong Kong Society for Diabetic Limb Care, and Dr. Kristein Van Acker, President of International Diabetes Federation (IDF).

 

Annual PA-Visit Fiscal Year 2018

Welcome Professor Banchong Mahaisavariya, President of Mahidol University and administrative board of Mahidol University to attend the Annual Performance Agreement for the fiscal year 2018 (PA-visit 2018) on December 15, 2017. The board received a warm welcome from Siriraj administrative members led by Professor Dr. Prasit Watanapa, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital.

OHSU Visits Siriraj

On December 13, 2017, Professor Dr. Prasert Auewarakul, Deputy Dean of Research, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, along with Dr. Korapat Mayurasakorn from Molecular Medicine Research Center, welcome the distinguished guests from Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), USA: Professor Elena Andresen, Executive Vice President and Provost, Dr. Sharon Anderson, Dean of the OHSU School of Medicine, Dr. Sarah Schwanke Khilji, Director of Interprofessional Education, OHSU Global – SE Asia, and Dr. Justin Denny, Director of OHSU Global – SE Asia, for the visit and discussion on further collaboration in researches between Siriraj and OHSU.

Siriraj Visits TMDU

On December 12, 2017, Professor Dr. Prasit Watanapa, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital along with Professor Thawatchai Akaraviputh, Deputy Dean for International Relations, Associate Professor Dr. Thawornchai Limjindaporn, Deputy Dean of Postgraduate Education, Assistant Professor Parichart Permpikul from Department of Transfusion Medicine, Dr. Siwanon Jirawatnotai from Department of Pharmacology, Associate Professor Asada Methasate and Dr. Vitoon Chinswangwatanakul from Department of Surgery visited Tokyo Medical and Dental University (TMDU), Japan to discuss on the further details about Joint Degree Program and Research Collaboration between Siriraj and TMDU.

Siriraj Executives Visited Kumamoto University, Japan

During December 10 – 11, 2017, Professor Dr. Prasit Watanapa, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital along with Professor Thawatchai Akaraviputh, Deputy Dean for International Relations, Associate Professor Dr. Thawornchai Limjindaporn, Deputy Dean of Postgraduate Education, Assistant Professor Parichart Permpikul from Department of Transfusion Medicine, Dr. Siwanon Jirawatnotai from Department of Pharmacology, Associate Professor Asada Methasate and Dr. Vitoon Chinswangwatanakul from Department of Surgery visited Kumamoto University Hospital, Japan.

The group received a very warm welcome from Professor Harada Shinji, President of Kumamoto University, Professor Kazuhito Tomizawa, Vice Dean of Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Professor Wen-Jie Son, Vice Dean of International Affairs and Professor Seiji Okada from Center for AIDS Research to have a discussion on research collaboration and double degree program as the MOU between two prestigious institutes has been signed since March 8, 2017.

We are pleased to announce that Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, now provides “International Visiting Rehabilitation Program”. Our program includes the opportunity to attend in all rehabilitation aspects such as:

Call for Application: The Fellowship Training in Pain Management 2018 (1 Year Program) 2 scholarships available !

Regarding our Pain Clinic run 1 year fellowship program in sub-specialty of Anesthesiologist in Pain Management at Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital in the year 2017. We would like to inform you that it will be started in 1 August 2018 to 31 July 2019. We want to encourage 1 year training to ensure that trainee has learned and trained skill in managing pain and able to do some of the useful procedures and technique.

We can afford to accept 2 doctors to attend fellowship in Pain Management each year, this is not regular course. The scholarships regularly provide for Southeast Asia countries (ASEAN + Mongolia are the most priorities for this program).

The selected candidates will be provided with tuition fees waived, accommodation, round trip air ticket those supported by International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) and World Federations of Societies of Anesthesiologists (WFSA).

We would like to collect all candidates deadline in the end of February, and put it through our Board Committee meeting for their consideration every February. Then we will reply back to inform the answer to all candidates in the end of March every year.
