The Prince Mahidol Award Laureates 2017 Delivered Special Lectures at the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital on Their Contributions to the Benefits of Mankind

On January 30th, 2018, Professor Dr. Prasit Watanapa, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital and Vice President of the Prince Mahidol Award Foundation welcomed Dr. Eric D. Green, Director of the National Human Genome Research Institute as a representative of the “Human Genome Project” (PMA in the field of Medicine) and Professor Porter W. Anderson, Jr., Dr. John B. Robbins, Dr. Rachel Schneerson, Professor Mathuram  Santosham (PMA in the field of Public Health), the Prince Mahidol Award Laureates 2017 to visit Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, the host and founder of Prince Mahidol Award (PMA), and to deliver special lectures demonstrating their rewarded contributions at the Rachapanaddasirindhorn Auditorium, 1st floor, Srisavarindhira Building, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital. On this occasion, the Laureates joined the Faculty Luncheon hosted by Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital along with Siriraj Faculty members and Prince Mahidol Award’s Committees at the Faculty Conference room, 2nd floor, Administration Building.

 

Discussion on “Experience for Journal Editor” for SMJ by Prof. Moll

On January 23, 2018, Professor Frans L. Moll, a visiting scholar of Division of Vascular Surgery, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital held a discussion on “Experience for Journal Editor” for Siriraj Medical Journal (SMJ) at Siriraj Medical Research Center.

Tzu Chi University Taiwan Visits Siriraj

Professor Thawatchai Akaraviputh, Deputy Dean for International Relations, together with Associate Professor Thawornchai Limjindaporn, Deputy Dean for Postgraduate Education, Professor Pa-Thai Yenchitsomanus, Assistant Dean for Postgraduate Education, Assistant Professor Peti Thuwajit, Assistant Dean for Postgraduate Education , Assistant Professor Wattana Watanapa, Chairwoman of Department of Physiology, and Assistant Professor Narawut Pakaprot from Department of Physiology, welcomed Dr. Hwan-Wun Liou, Dean of International Affairs, and Dr. Angela Tsai, Chief of Section of International Exchange, from Tzu Chi University, Taiwan, on the visit and discussion focused on further collaboration on post-graduation issues such as dual degree program, undergraduate exchange program, and Chinese language learning program at room 202, Siriraj Medical Research Center, 2nd floor.

Siriraj Visits National University of Singapore

On January 16th, 2018, Professor Suwannee Suraseranivongse, Deputy Dean and Director of Siriraj Medical School led Siriraj Executives, Deputy Deans, and Department Chairs to visit National University of Singapore Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS) to attend the seminar and discussion in order to learn about the medical education system, students’ life assessment as well as strategies in medical school governance.

A Discussion in Research Between Siriraj Ramathibodi and China Medical University

On January 16, 2018, Professor Dr. Prasit Watanapa, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, along with Professor Dr. Prasert Auewarakul, Deputy Dean for Research, Assistant Professor Dr. Peti Thuwajit, Assistant Dean for Postgraduate Education, and Associate Professor Dr. Chanitra Thuwajit, from Department of Immunology, welcomed the delegates from from China Medical University, Taiwan: Professor Dr. Liang-Yo Yang, Dean of Global Affairs, Professor Dr. Shao-Chun Wang, Director of Graduate Institute of Biomedical Sciences (GIBS) and Deputy Director, Center for Molecular Medicine, College of Medicine, Professor Tzu-Chieh Chou from Department of Public Health, College of Public Health, and Associate Professor Dr.Ted Lai, College of Medicine, to a discussion for the collaboration in research. This discussion was also well attended by Professor Boonsong Ongphiphadhanakul, Deputy Dean for Research, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, and his team.

AAHCI’s South East Asia Regional Meeting 2018

On January 11, 2018, Professor Prasit Watanapa, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, was invited as a guest speaker on the topics “Faculty Recruitment and Retention” at the regional meeting “AAHCI’s South East Asia Regional Meeting 2018: Challenges of Developing Academic Health Systems in Southeast Asia” co-hosted by The Association of Academic Health Centers International (AAHCI) and NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.

The meeting consists of a one-day symposium and a networking reception to engage key academic health leaders in the region and will enable AAHCI members to learn from and network with peers from Southeast Asia and around the world. In this meeting, Professor Prasit was accompanied by Professor Thawatchai Akaraviputh, Deputy Dean for International Relations, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital.
