Siriraj International Residency & Fellowship Orientation 2023

On July 21st, 2023, Assoc. Prof. Thawornchai Limjindaporn, M.D., Ph.D., Deputy Dean for Postgraduate Education, and Prof. Woraphong Manuskiatti, M.D., Assistant Dean for Postgraduate Education, delivered a welcoming address to the international Residents & Fellows on the orientation ceremony “Siriraj International Residency & Fellowship Training Program Orientation 2023” at Siriraj Medical Library, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University. This orientation aims to welcome and provide all necessary information on life at Siriraj, history, culture, advice & experience sharing, and Siriraj’s one-stop services, including the ice-breaking activities for all newcomers of Siriraj’s international residents and fellows!

Siriraj’s Clinical Report Was Selected as an Editor’s Choice of “Lasers in Surgery and Medicine”!

Congratulations to the team from Siriraj Skin Laser Center after their clinical report on the topic “Nonablative monopolar radiofrequency for the reduction of facial pores and sebum excretion in Thai patients: A novel approach” was selected as “June 2023 Editor’s Choice” by the world-renowned medical journal “Lasers in Surgery and Medicine”! A team of correspondences from Siriraj Skin Laser Center, Department of Dermatology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, consisted of Lect. Dr.Thanya Techapichetvanich, Prof. Woraphong Manuskiatti, Dr.Supisara Wongdama, Dr.Noldtawat Viriyaskultorn, Dr.Jayne Bernadeth Li, and Dr.Nuttagarn Jantanapornchai.

The journal “Lasers in Surgery and Medicine” publishes the highest quality research and clinical manuscripts in areas relating to the use of lasers in medicine and biology. The journal publishes basic and clinical studies on the therapeutic and diagnostic use of lasers in all surgical and medical specialties. This is the official journal of the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery.

The Top 1% Researchers Award at Mahidol University is awarded to faculty members who exhibit moral integrity, knowledge, skill, and diligence in their work, leading to excellent accomplishments in a variety of disciplines of study that are advantageous to the university, society, and the country. The award is based on the criterion of publications in international databases.

Siriraj Faculty Aboard at American Society for Laser Surgery and Medicine (ASLMS) meeting 2023

Congratulations! Dr. Ya-Nin Nokdhes, a clinical fellow in Laser & Dermatologic Surgery from the Department of Dermatology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, and Dr. Supisara Wongdama, a second-year resident from the Department of Dermatology for receiving educational support scholarship to present the studies at the American Society for Laser Surgery and Medicine (ASLMS) meeting 2023 in Phoenix, Arizona during April 13-16, 2023.

The 42nd American Society for Laser Surgery and Medicine (ASLMS) Annual Conference is the top international meeting in medical lasers and energy-based technologies by the world-leading organization in promoting research, education, and high standards of clinical care by advancing the biomedical application of lasers and energy-based technologies.

At this meeting, Dr. Ya-Nin Nokdhes will deliver a presentation on the research topic “Efficacy and Safety of Fractional 1064-nm Picosecond Laser for the Treatment of Mammoplasty Scar in Asians: A Prospective Randomized, Split-Side Comparative Study”, while Dr. Supisara Wongdama will present her study on the topic “Efficacy and safety of non-ablative monopolar radiofrequency for the reduction of facial pores and sebum excretion”

Siriraj at the Annual Meeting “American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) 2023”

The Department of Dermatology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital recently attended the annual meeting of the “American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) 2023” between March 17th – 21st, 2023, in New Orleans, USA.

On the first day, as guest speakers, Prof. Woraphong Manuskiatti and Prof. Rungsima Wanitphakdeedecha delivered presentations on “Managing Unique Conditions in Asian Skin”, and “Advances in Microneedling Techniques Around the World”, respectively.

Dr. Sasitorn Yenyuwadee, a research fellow and the scholarship recipient of the Prince Mahidol Award Youth Program 2019, presented an e-Poster on the topic “RIAM Regulates T Cell Migration and Activation in Melanoma”, which was co-conducted in collaboration with the Harvard Medical School.

In addition, the team from Siriraj’s Department of Dermatology also delivered the e-posters on three topics: “Nonablative Monopolar Radiofrequency Affects Facial Pore Size”, “The Effectiveness of Using Triple Combined Modalities using Microfocused Ultrasound, Neuromodulators and Fillers in Periorbital Region for Optimal Rejuvenation: A Prospective Cohort Study”, and “Biodiversity of feet microbiome in patients with pitted keratolysis: correlation with pitted score and unpleasant odor severity”.

Elective Study at the Department of Anesthesiology and the Department of Dermatology

Welcome, a Korean medical student from Yonsei University College of Medicine, South Korea, to undertake an elective study at the Department of Anesthesiology from January 3rd – 13th, 2023, and the Department of Dermatology from January 16th – 20th, 2023. And between January 3rd – 6th, 2023, Mr. Natanon Kittimongkolsuk and Ms. Chakriya Jirasutthichoti, the high school students also attended an observership program called ’shadowing electives’ at the Department of Anesthesiology.

Siriraj Faculty Abroad at the 12th World Congress For Hair Research 2022!

During November 18th – 21st, 2022, Asst. Prof. Kanchalit Thanomkitti, a Lecturer of the Division of Hair Disorders and Hair Transplantation, Department of Dermatology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, attended “the 12th World Congress of Hair Research 2022″ in Melbourne, Australia, to deliver a poster presentation on the topic, “Efficacy and Safety of Topical 5% Azelaic Acid Solution Versus 2% Minoxidil Solution in the Treatment of Female Pattern Hair Loss “. This congress focused on new knowledge and emerging treatments for hair disease.

 

Siriraj Faculty Abroad at the 30th World Congress of the International​ Society​ of​ Hair ​Restoration​ Surgery​ (ISHRS)

On October 28th, 2022, Assoc. Prof. Ratthaphon Thuangtong of the Division of Hair Disorders and Hair Transplantation, Department of Dermatology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, was invited as an international speaker to deliver a special lecture on the topic “The Effects of Music on Anxiety and Pain in Hair Transplantation” at the 30th World Congress of the International​ Society​ of​ Hair ​Restoration​ Surgery​ (ISHRS) in Panama City, Panama.

The International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) is a global non-profit medical association and the leading authority on hair loss treatment and restoration. With more than 1,000 members throughout 70 countries worldwide, the ISHRS is dedicated to achieving excellence in patient outcomes by promoting the highest standards of medical practice, medical ethics, and research in the medical hair restoration industry.

Siriraj Scholarship for ASEAN and Developing Countries

Welcome, Dr. Ambika Rani Pradhan from Jigme Dorji Wangchuk National Referal Hospital (JDWNRH), Ministry of Health, Bhutan, to attend the short training program under the Siriraj Scholarship for ASEAN and Developing Countries starting from October 3rd – 31st, 2022, under the supervision of Prof. Woraphong Manuskiatti of the Department of Dermatology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University.
