Asst.Prof. Patcharee Sriswasdi from the Department of Anesthesiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, attended the workshop, “Fiber Optic Intubation Workshop” at the “Asian Society of Pediatric Anesthesia (ASPA) 2022” in Turkey during October 14th – 16th, 2022, to learn about the new techniques for better patient care and educational training at Siriraj.

Assoc. Prof. Pichaya Waitayawinyu of the Department of Anesthesiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, delivered the topic “Perioperative Cardiac Arrhythmia” for the Pediatric Perioperative Life Support Workshop (both online and onsite) at “The 18th Asian Society of Paediatric Anaesthesiologist (ASPA) 2022″ at Acibadem University, Istanbul, Turkey.

Siriraj International Visiting Scholars at Department of Anesthesiology

Welcome, Prof. Manoj Kumar Karmakar, the Consultant Anesthesiologist and Director of Paediatric Anaesthesia of the Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, to serve as Siriraj International Visiting Scholars at the Department of Anesthesiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University starting from October 3rd – 16th, 2022.

Siriraj Faculty Abroad at the 50th SNACC

During September 8th – 10th, 2022, Lecturer Dr. Taniga Kiatchai of the Department of Anesthesiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, attended the international conference “The 50th Society for Neuroscience in Anesthesiology and Critical Care (SNACC) Annual Meeting” in the USA, and delivered a poster presentation on the topic “Effect of First Anesthesia Exposure on Short-Term Neurocognitive Function in Children between Ages 1-36 Months: a Case-Control Pilot Study.” Her poster presentation will be presented to a broader group audience, and the abstract will be published as a conference abstract in the Journal of Neurosurgical Anesthesiology!

The 50th SNACC Annual Meeting delivers a program designed to meet and update the educational needs and practice gaps of neuroanesthesiologists, neurocritical care specialists, and all perioperative neuroscience practitioners who engage in providing care to neurologically impaired patients/patients at risk of neurologic injury during the perioperative period, as well as neuroscientists engaged in both clinical and basic perioperative neuroscience research. The workshops, symposia, lectures, and abstract presentations will specifically address new clinical findings essential to improving the care of patients, as well as advancing both basic and clinical research in perioperative neuroscience.

Siriraj Faculty Abroad at AMEE 2022 in France

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chantacha Sitticharoon, Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Education, along with Asst. Prof. Dr. Thasaneeya Ratanaroutai Nopparat jamjomras from Siriraj Health Science Education Excellence center (SHEE), Assoc. Prof. Kasana Raksamani from the Department of Anesthesiology, and two outstanding Siriraj medical students: Ms. Onranicha Phataralaoha and Mr. Suphachok Charoensakyothin, attended the Annual Conference of The Association for Medical Education in Europe Conference (AMEE 2022) on the theme “Redefining Health Professionals Education Together” at the Lyon Convention Centre, Lyon, France, between August 27th – 31st, 2012.

The AMEE annual conference established as the key meeting for all involved in medical and healthcare professions education such as teachers, educators, researchers, administrators, and medical students. The conference provides an opportunity to network with others with similar interests, to hear and discuss the views of acknowledged experts, to take part in workshops and courses, and to present their work through a short communication or poster. AMEE conference held on a wide range of topical issues in medical and health care professions education.

King Abdulaziz University Hospital Visits Siriraj

On August 11th, 2022, Prof. Manee Rattanachaiyanont, Deputy Dean and Director of Siriraj Medical School, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, along with Assoc. Prof. Prapat Wanitpongpan, Deputy Dean for International Relations, Asst. Prof. Somkiat Aroonpruksakul, Chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology, and Dr. Sirirat Ratanaarpa, Program Manager of Siriraj Medical Simulation Center for Education and Training (SiMSET), welcomed Prof. Abdulaziz Boker, Chairman of Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care, King Abdulaziz University Hospital, on the visit and discussion on the future collaboration between Siriraj and King Abdulaziz University Hospital.

International Fellowship in Clinical Pain Management 2022

Welcome, Dr. Nina Johanna Antoine T. Lim from the Philippines and Dr. Mahammad Zunaid from Bangladesh to undertaking “Siriraj’s International Fellowship Training in Clinical Pain Management 2022” at Siriraj Pain Management Clinical Training Center, Department of Anesthesiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Nantthasorn Zinboonyahgoon and his team between August 1st, 2022 – July 31st, 2023. This program is a hands-on one-year fellowship training program jointly sponsored by the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) and the World Federation of Societies for Anaesthesiologists (WFSA) for two outstanding multidisciplinary clinicians in pain management, treatments, and assessments for application in low-resource countries.

The name of the replacement candidate is shown as follows:

Dr. Mahammad Zunaid, M.D., from the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, will replace Dr. Aung Chan Thu, M.D., from the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

Siriraj Faculty Abroad at Euroanesthesia 2021

Assoc. Prof. Kasana Raksamani from Department of Anesthesiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, attended and delivered a poster and oral presentation on the topic “Accuracy of visual estimation of the left ventricular ejection fraction in untrained perioperative echocardiographers” at the “Euroanesthesia 2021″. This congress was held as an online platform between December 17th – 19th, 2021.
